47 km of cleared winter hiking trails lead through snow-covered forests and to fascinating views of the valley and the alpine pastures. The difficulty levels range from easy to moderately difficult. The trail network in the entire winter sports resort of Altenmarkt-Zauchensee is uniformly signposted (yellow) and is part of the 240 km comprehensive winter hiking trail network of the Salzburg Sport World. Romantic places directly along the way, huts and mountain restaurants invite you to stop and consciously experience moments of tranquility.

The cleared winter hiking trails on Altenmarkt's three local mountains lead to the Moosalm and Habersatt snack stations, to the Winterbauer and Bliembauer mountain inns and to Hochnössleralm/Bifei's Hütt'n. In Zauchensee, a particularly beautiful hiking trail leads to the Sonnalm. The hikes take about one to one and a half hours. At some huts you can borrow a toboggan and whiz back down into the valley.
