Yes, there is a spacious sauna area with five themed saunas, a hamam made of Sölker marble and a steam bath.

Is the sauna area free of textiles?

The entire sauna area is a textile-free zone.

What offers are there for children at the Adventure Spa Amadé?

Children can enjoy the 4 slides, the children's pool, the water climbing wall, the diving tower, the outdoor evening adventure playground and the winter laser show.

Can I buy bathing suits at the Adventure Spa Amadé?

Yes, there is a shop in the spa where you can buy various bathing utensils.

The nearest airport is Salzburg Airport. Salzburg is about 50 minutes (65 km) from Altenmarkt.

Yes, the bus and train network is well developed in our region. Buses and trains run almost every hour, taking you comfortably to the city of Mozart. There is also a direct connection (without changing trains) to Salzburg 3 times a day.

Bus tickets can be purchased either online or directly from the bus driver. Train tickets can be purchased either online, at the self-service counters on the platform or directly at the staffed counters in the larger stations. The nearest staffed ticket office is in Bischofshofen.

With the Salzburger Sportwelt Card (guest card) you only pay € 1 per route for the hiking bus.

Can dogs be taken along and does this cost anything?

Dogs can be taken on a leash and with a muzzle. The minimum fare applies. As an example: the route from Altenmarkt to Wagrain would cost € 1.90.

Do groups have to be registered?

Yes. The lead time (advance booking) for larger group rides is 48h and is absolutely necessary. These groups must please register directly at the Salzburg Transport Association (svv) on +43(0)6457/32 437.

When are the peak seasons in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee?

The peak season times are in February, July & August. Experience shows that the school holiday periods are also busier (Christmas holidays, Easter, Whitsun, autumn holidays).

Are there outdoor pools in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee?

No, the nearest outdoor pool is in Radstadt, about 10 minutes by car from Altenmarkt-Zauchensee. As an alternative to the outdoor pool, we can recommend the Adventure Spa Amadé. With its 11 pools, 4 slides and large sauna area, it offers bathing fun for young and old.

When is the Altenmarkt-Zauchensee Tourist Office open?

We are open Mon - Fri from 9 - 12 am & 1 - 5 pm.
We are closed on Sat, Sun and public holidays.

When are the lifts open in summer?

From 16 June to mid-September, the Gamskogelbahn takes you up to the Gamskogel every day (except when it rains) from 9 to 12 am and from 1 to 4 pm.

Tip for early risers: Every Saturday in July and August, the Gamskogelbahn is already in operation from 7.30 am.

When are the lifts open in winter?

Zauchensee-Flachauwinkl ski area: daily from 8.30 am - 4.15 pm.

Radstadt-Altenmarkt ski area: daily from 8.30 am - 4 pm.

Yes, in winter there are 2 ski bus lines in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee. One line runs between Radstadt-Altenmarkt-Zauchensee and the other between Radstadt-Altenmarkt-Flachau-Flachauwinkl.

How much does the ski bus cost?

The ski bus is free of charge for all skiers and snowboarders.

Is it allowed to ride the ski bus as a pedestrian?

There is no 100 % guarantee for the transfer. If the ski bus is quite full, skiers and snowboarders have priority.

Do groups have to be registered?

What ski areas are there in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee?

There are 2 ski areas in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee:

Skischaukel Radstadt-Altenmarkt:
Families, pleasure skiers and beginners feel particularly at home here. 17 kilometres of pistes and 8 lifts are available here.

Skischaukel Zauchensee-Flachauwinkl:
With 45 kilometres of pistes and 16 modern lifts, this ski area will delight every winter sports enthusiast. Especially sporty and demanding skiers get their money's worth here. For pleasure skiers there are always blue bypasses for steep sections.

Are the ski resorts suitable for children?

Yes, both ski areas are also suitable for children. The Radstadt-Altenmarkt ski area offers not only child-friendly slopes but also practice lifts, the children's paradise "Fichtelland" and a children's fun park - it is therefore particularly recommended. In the Zauchensee-Flachauwinkl ski area there are always blue bypasses for steep sections, which are ideally suited for children.

How can you get around sustainably in Altenmarkt?

In summer and winter, public transport runs daily in and around Altenmarkt-Zauchensee. There is also a train station directly in Altenmarkt, so it is also possible to travel by train. In winter there is also a ski bus between Radstadt-Altenmarkt-Zauchensee and Radstadt-Altenmarkt-Flachau-Flachauwinkl.

Where can you rent the toboggans?

You can hire the toboggans directly from the huts or from the Königslehen valley station in Radstadt.

Renting a toboggan at the huts costs from € 4/toboggan/day. Renting a toboggan at the Königslehen valley station costs €10/toboggan (including € 5 deposit).

Do you have to take care of bringing the toboggans back up to the hut afterwards?

No, the hut operators do that for you. At the end of the toboggan run there is a gathering place for all toboggans.

How far is Zauchensee from Altenmarkt?

Zauchensee is 10 km away from Altenmarkt. By car, this corresponds to a journey of around 15 minutes. From December - April and June - September, buses run daily between the two towns.
