Spending time together with the family on skis is best done in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee. Because in the heart of ski amadé, Austria's largest skiing pleasure, 275 of 760 kilometers are family-friendly, blue slopes. A great and exciting change from normal skiing can be found on the various fun slopes, in the parks and on the "somewhat different" slopes.
The Radstadt-Altenmarkt ski area offers safe lifts for children, many easy downhill runs, family-friendly mountain inns and ski huts, ski schools with childcare for the youngest and children's ski courses from the age of 4.
The ski paradise Zauchensee-Flachauwinkl also scores with incomparably varied fun on the slopes for young and old. From each of the three ski mountains, a blue slope leads down to the World Cup arena. For advanced
there are also sporty and challenging slopes.
Children are happy when they learn to ski with fun and joy. This is guaranteed by the top trained ski instructors of the ski schools, who inspire kids for skiing in a playful way.
When should your child start skiing, in what environment and how? As parents, you are the best judge of whether your offspring are ready for their first days of skiing. Otherwise, an age of three is just right.
In the Kinderland areas of the two ski areas in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, exciting routes, colorful figures and mascots await the kids, who will quickly make them forget any fall. They are all located in the valley and therefore close to accommodation and parking.
The advantage of a ski course is that children are introduced to skiing in a playful way. The ski instructors often know better when a breather with games in the snow is necessary or when the next learning step is possible.
Whether a course in a group or with a private instructor depends on the child. Especially in the beginning, a group is advantageous because the child is with people of the same age and therefore has more fun than in individual lessons. In addition, group courses are less expensive.
Ultimate variety of offers for families can be found throughout the ski amadé ski area: 10 kids and snow parks, 13 fun slopes and funcross trails, kid parks, themed and timed trails.
The adventurers and daredevils will never get bored here. Boxing, small and large kickers and maybe even the first tricks can thus be tried in a safe environment.
The snowpark offers a sophisticated set-up - it is ideal for young and old rookies who want to improve their skills step by step and get to know the snowpark lifestyle. With the Rosskopf lift, the playground is quickly accessible for shred youngsters. Kickers for first airtime experiences, spine and mushroom for jib action, boxes and other highlights provide plenty of fun and adventure on two lines.
In the children's area, which is open to the public, with a covered magic carpet and practice lift, even the youngest children can learn to ski in a playful way.
Right next to the top station of the Kemahdhöhe chairlift is the Beginner Park, the perfect playground for budding freestyle pros. Two small kickers and three boxes await snowpark greenhorns.
At the valley station is the Fichtelland, which is accessed by the plate lift of the same name. The little guests can explore the shy Fichtel and the many animals in the Fichtelwald. Waves, steep curves as well as the passage in the Fichtelwald make children's hearts beat faster.

A unique supporting program with Vola ski preparation, Atomic ski test, autograph session with ÖSV stars and much more.
The idea behind it is to give the kids the opportunity to exchange ideas and show their tricks in front of an audience. The fact that they can also cash in on this is an added bonus.
