This tour to Tauernkarleiten alm, nestled in the Radstädter Tauern, is one of the best loved walks in the region due to its proliferation of alpine flora and fauna and enchanting views. Starting from the world cup arena in Zauchensee, walk up the valley to the Oberzauchensee alm on a gently, climbing asphalt track for 2.2 km. From there follow the path past the huts to Stubhöhe and then over the ridge to Tauernkarleiten alm. Here you will find a true idyll, with a summer farm hut preserved as a museum, which serves up tasty, hearty alpine food.
