The route will provide you with fascinating information about weather proverbs and sayings at more than 30 stations, that everyone can recite, but we rarely know anything about their history. Reserve half a day of your family holiday for the hiking path, which will definitely make you as clever as the farmers.
The themed path is 4.9 kilometres long and takes you from the Reitlehenalm (1,285m) to the Habersatt Jausenstation (1,125m) via a partially forested mountain ridge with stunning views over Altenmarkt and towards Zauchensee. Hiking boots / shoes recommended. The last 2 km take you on a forest trail. Hiking time: 2 – 2 ½ hours
The hiking path is not suitable for pushchairs. Whoever goes on summer holiday with children in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, takes older children by the hand and small babies in a baby carrier. Sport shops in the village rent out baby carriers.
Car parking: You can walk to the weather lore path or take the car. Parking spaces are available at the Köpferkehre (hairpin) or at the huts: Berggasthof Habersatt and the Reitlehenalm.
Refreshments: On the weather lore path, you can stop for refreshments at the Jausenstation Reitlehenalm and at the Berggasthof Habersatt – with petting zoo and playground area.
The "Bauernregelweg" is a theme trail in Altenmarkt. Hike through the knowledge of our ancestors and learn exciting facts about weather rules.
The starting point for the themed circular trail is the Köpferkehre on the Schwemmbergweg. This is about 10 minutes below the Reitlehenalm.
