Ski Area Radstadt-Altenmarkt
With its gentle slopes, Radstadt-Altenmarkt is a well-kept secret for families and piste cruisers. The nursery slopes at the Altenmarkt and Radstadt base stations are ideal for beginners, especially the Altenmarkt one, which has the best length and gradient for beginners in Salzburger Sportworld. 20 km of prepared pistes: 8 km easy (blue) and 12 km medium difficult (red) invite you to enjoy a perfect day’s skiing. Modern snow-making facilities and comfortable lifts including the new 10-man Hochbifang gondola guarantee high standards. Altenmarkt has been rated the best value-for-money ski area by the ADAC. New 10-man Hochbifang Gondola
After 40 years, the 2-man chairlift has been replaced by a 10-man gondola which provides guests with modern facilities in time for the winter season 2011/12. It is one of the longest in Ski amadé region at 2,300 m in length, climbing 680 m, but only takes 7 ½ minutes to reach the summit of Kemahdhöhe (1,561 m). This new lift makes Radstadt-Altenmarkt one of the most up-to-date ski areas in Salzburgerland.

Now it’s official: The Salzburger Sportworld with its 8 holiday towns of Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, Flachau, Wagrain, St. Johann-Alpendorf, Radstadt, Kleinarl, Eben and Filzmoos, has been rated the best value-for-money ski region in Austria by ADAC.
The ADAC has taken a close look at all of the ski regions in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and France. The new ADAC ski pass index covers 600 ski regions in the Alps, giving skiers an objective assessment. The criteria are lift pass price, kilometres of pistes, the number, capacity and quality of the lifts, piste quality, snow-sureness and the rating of the ADAC SkiGuide.
ADAC Ski Guide 2012
Salzburger Sportworld, of which Altenmarkt-Zauchensee is a part, features in the latest edition of the ADAC Ski Guide. They were awarded 3rd place for the Diversity Category out of the 200 destinations that were assessed.
